I just had to post some more things about fall!

It’s getting so beautiful around here – the leaves are changing:

Paul bought a new old truck recently, which looks lovely with the leafy backdrop:

For those who want to know: it is a 1970 Chevy C10…… and it is just screaming for me to put some hay bales, cornstalks, mums and pumpkins in the back, don’t you think??? SO. FALL.

I harvested what I think is my last batch of lavender this week and it is drying on the dining room table next to the crocheted pumpkins my friend Renee made, the lantern-looking-flower-weed things (also known as ground cherries) that my friend Sally gave me, and the wonderful flower-holding pitcher my sister Carolyn gave me.

I’m baking up a storm (one of those cozy activities for fall) lately and made chocolate chip with sea salt cookies to bring to my shop-girl shift at The Spinning Room yarn shop last weekend:

They got good reviews from a shop owner and customers! The reviews from home were a little more discerning…too many chocolate chips (what?????? that’s possible????) and a little flat. I didn’t weigh my flour and probably didn’t have enough in the batter, hence the flatness. As for the chocolate chip overage….that’s just ridiculous. Home testers…

We’ve also been doing some walks in the woods, and the fall weather – nice, crisp air – has been perfect. Paul and I are on the hunt to purchase some land – a place to escape to with our camper, maybe make some ATV trails, maybe build a little house for retirement some day.

Wink comes with us on our excursions and has been a trooper, climbing over/under/through all the things. As you can see by this picture, he blends. (Unlike Cousin Vinny. Get it?)

The last thing to show you is the long-awaited (by Paul) upgrade to my KNIT license plate. It used to look like this:

(That is a very old picture. Kinda blurry. I don’t have that car anymore and we don’t have that big tree anymore. We had to cut it down and I was so sad.)

But now, the license plate is upgraded to the latest NY design:

It adorns my never-getting-rid-of-it 2010 Buick Lucerne that is the most couch-comfortable granny-car and drives like a dream. No backup cam, no updated electronics, but it has heated seats and steering wheel. Can’t beat it.

Paul wanted the KNIT license plate to match our latest license plate addition:

This one adorns our we-should-probably-have-a-more-reliable-than-a-2010-Buick car.

So now, when they are parked next to each other….

It’s the little things in life, right?

Also, because it’s fall, I’ve been doing tons of knitting and crocheting. That’s actually not true – I do tons of knitting and crocheting all year long. I’ll show you the recent stuff in the next post…
