Now fall is officially here, based on the calender, and all the fall things are happening.

Early morning coffee on the deck looks like this now:

And after about an hour, it looks like this:

Still beautiful and peaceful, but getting chilly.

Another sign of fall is that I’m teaching more knitting classes. The one last weekend was to finish up some knitted slippers that will soon be felted in washing machines to become wonderfully warm and woolly:

Paul and I tromped through the woods in Barkhamsted, CT last weekend. It was a beautiful, crisp day and I found these beauties:

After tromping, we camped at a Harvest Host location, the Norbrook Farm Brewery in Colebrook, where Wink made friends with a cow and a little horse. It’s beautiful in northwest Connecticut!

Then we had tacos and beer for dinner. I had another fall favorite (2nd place to pumpkin ale), The Kaiser’s Oktoberfest.

Paul is making sure the woodshed is in perfect, stacked order, for the wood stove:

We haven’t needed the stove yet, but it’s just around the corner.

And I fell prey to the seasonal section of Hannaford and this wonderfully big coffee mug with the Peanuts on it. Do I need another mug? NO! But I couldn’t help myself. I love the Peanuts and this mug holds A LOT of coffee or tea…

How about those crocheted pumpkins??? My friend Renee made them and now I’m on a crochet tear, finding a pattern to make some to sell at our roadside stand before fall is over!
