Season 4 of Downton Abbey starts tonight!  Are you watching?  I love Downton Abbey.  LOVE!  Just a great show with great stories.  If you haven’t watched, go back and start with season one. You’ll be hooked.

I have just made a last minute decision to participate in the Jimmy Beans Wool Downton Abbey Mystery KAL 2014.  As long as I can find enough yarn in my stash….

For those non-knitters out there, a KAL is a Knit-A–Long.  A bunch of knitters all knitting the same pattern at the same time.  A mystery KAL means you have no idea what the finished product will look like and you get clues (or pattern parts) each week to knit the next portion.  So. Fun.

I participated in last season’s KAL and made these Lady Violet’s Dinner Gauntlets:

The only thing we know about this season’s KAL is that it is a shawl of some sort.  AND, as a twist, instead of just getting pattern parts, the KAL will include instructions like “When Bates sneezes, knit 4 rows in seed stitch”.  HA! How fun is that?  SERIOUSLY!

So, I couldn’t wait and I just went to my stash… on first inspection, it appears I have two options:
