Two-and-a-half Minutes of Zen
Stress is a fact of life. At least, it’s a fact of MY life. I’ve been on quite the journey to find the best ways to decrease the way my body handles stress. Meditation, EFT tapping, hobbies, naps, rest. All of them are effective for different reasons and at different times of the day. But recently, I found a little pocket of time – 2 1/2 minutes – that allows me some zen…. the local automatic car wash.
Back in November, we purchased a new car and decided that we’d get a monthly pass to our local car wash. This satisfied Paul’s need to make sure our new thing was kept clean when he couldn’t wash it himself (which is his preference!). Lo and behold, since I’m the one who mainly drives this car, I have become addicted to this two-and-a-half minute activity. The sounds and the various car wash components are VERY relaxing to me. Sometimes I close my eyes! And I can go through the car wash an unlimited amount of times each month. So, every time I’m driving by, I stop in for my zen.
The last time I went, I took a video. Put on some earbuds/headphones and try watching it to see if it give YOU a little zen:
Wasn’t that great????
Cool!
I don’t think I will look at a carwash the same. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I think I need to go wash my car.
