Peanut Butter and Jelly Fly By
Just a fly by post today since things have been quite busy around here lately. Some of it involves a new cowl design that I can’t show you yet! But some of it is just the busy-ness of life lately.
So, here’s what’s been happening:
I made these Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars (from Martha):
Oh. My. Gosh. I am totally in love with these. I love, Love, LOVE peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and these are them, in a cookie.
Easy to make, by smooshing a layer of the peanut butter cookie dough in the pan and dumping strawberry jam on top:
Spreading the jam out and then dolloping the rest of the cookie dough on top (it’s too thick to spread):
Forty-five minutes in the oven and then there is this golden brown, peanut butter-y, strawberry jam-y goodness:
So good when it’s still warm and so good when it’s room temperature. Just. So. Good.
But, having tried them and known I would eat them all within a day (or so) and because Paul, even though he, too, likes PB & J sandwiches, did not really like these (what???????)….
They got cut up and packed up to take to the yarn shop…
Where they were enjoyed by all. (That is the two socks on one circular needle class!)
Also, just a few snow piles left, and a still-frozen pond, but things are looking up for spring:
And we got ice cream:
Did Paul think the bars were too peanut butter-y? Or, too sweet? They look delicious.
