New Look! : Part Two and THE STORM
So, what is my tag line “Crafting the Good Life” all about? Seems obvious that it means I’m working toward a good life, right? Right! But let me break it down a little more for you:
“Crafting” is a literal nod to all my hobbies and activities in my life that make me happy and make life good.
But “crafting” is also a nod to how I’m going to craft wellness into my life to address my stress and fibromyalgia, since it can often affect my ability to do my hobbies and activities.
Some of the things on my wellness list, and therefore some things you may see talked about in this blog, are:
Exercise/stretching: Arguably the most important thing on my list.
Eating well: UGH. Ok, maybe this one is just as important as exercise. Huge struggle of mine.
Meditation: Something I’ve done on and off over the years. I’m currently in an “off” phase.
Therapy: ACK! I said it. It was hard to put this on a public blog. But… therapy is awesome. Try it.
Journaling: Also something I’ve done on/off over the years. I’m currently in an “on” phase.
Yoga: Something I love. Hard for me to do at home, hard for me to get to a class.
Aromatherapy: LAVENDER! …and other scents.
Tai Chi: Something I really want to try. Supposed to be good for stress and overall wellness.
Stay tuned for all of this crafting the good life and my figuring it out along the way!
Ok, so now that I’ve explained all about what you might see in this blog, let’s move on to today’s other blog topic: THE STORM.
Needless to say, there was much talk about this storm. It mostly lived up to the hype for us here in up-upstate New York. Yes, I said “up-upstate.” There is upstate which is just north of NYC, and then there is “up-upstate” which is what I call the rest of New York. We live near Albany.

Once the 18-20″ of snow finished falling, Paul did his usual thing: cleared the driveway and made walking/running paths for “The Boys” (Moose and Wink) around the yard.

They even have their own “race track” around the pond in our backyard. Thank goodness for Paul’s tractor – we live somewhat remotely and this is the only way they get exercise when we are in this part of winter. Here’s a video:
They just love playing and chasing each other. Moose is the bigger, brown dog (a shepherd, Labrador, terrier mix) and Wink is the smaller, multi-color spotted dog (a cattle dog mix).
Wink is especially fond of the deep snow and loves to plow through it, then lay in it with his squeaky ball.

They were tuckered out!

It is snowing again right now and we are expected to get another inch or so before all is said and done.
In the mean time, we have to make our way out and about because our kitchen sink faucet broke, and I am NOT waiting until tomorrow to get a new one.

Don’t ask. But I can tell you, boy do you appreciate a kitchen sink when you don’t have one and have to use the tiny bathroom sink to wash everything. You will hear me say over and over again in this blog how grateful I am for Paul and his handy abilities. He can do just about anything around here without having to call in the professionals. Someday I’ll do a Paul-appreciation-post and tell you everything he knows how to do.
That’s it for today. Please comment below if you’d like. Tell me if you’ve tried tai chi! Tell me how you fared THE STORM! Tell me if you like the things I like! Anything. You can sign up with your email in the sidebar if you’d like a notice when there is a new post up.
Next post, I think we’ll do some coffee talk. Or maybe knitting talk. We’ll see.

Great to see what you’ve been up to!
Hi Heather! thanks!
